My Little Snowblading Injury - Winter 2005

January 12, 2005: One week after the accident, after seeing this x-ray, my orthopedic specialist game me a choice: I could let things heal on their own or I could get surgery. My break is a bad one because its out at the end near my shoulder, the bone is broken into 3 pieces and, as you can see its pretty badly displaced. There is a chance that it won't fuse on its own. On the other hand, the surgery to put in a bone plate would be pretty complicated and could cause problems as well. I decided to just trust in my body's ability to get the job done. With my arm support by a sling, I just went on with life and let it heal itself.
